One thing you may not know about me is that I am a film addict. You find me watching anything futuristic, mystery, fantasy action and so much more. I am one of those really annoying individuals that have had Netflix years before it became popular and one of those that watch series and movies as before as it airs.

Movies have always been for me. I like to get lost in a world where my brain thrives. Please bare with I promise that I have a point.

Whether the plot is good or bad sometimes I just watch movies simply for the graphics. One of such movie is Ultraviolet featuring Milla Jovovich. What I most remember about the movie was the lighting which went to both end of the spectrum in a matter of minutes.

I chose to name this image Ultra simply because of that. Before I started to edit, I knew what I would like my end goal to be. With that, I started to process the image but when I thought that I had finished, I had to go back a few days later for a few adjustments. Sometimes it’s good to step away and came back with a fresh perspective.

You will also notice lately that my images are a little more abstract lately. I am simply just going through my backlog of images as I have not been able to put my camera to good use lately.

Wishing you all a wonderful remainder of the week

  1. I love a lot of the classic B&W films, the lighting that helps create drama, mood and atmosphere (Alfred Hitchcock for example) is well worth paying attention to.
It also helps that I just like them as films of a bygone era.

Alfred Hitchcock is definitely one of my favourite directors and definitely one of the greats to learn from

  2. This does capture the lighting and moods of the classic black-and-white films, especially noir. These images are fantastic.
